The region’s third sector has filled both the Chair and Vice Chair roles of the group helping to take forward Dumfries and Galloway Health and Social Care’s Strategic Commissioning Plan for 2021-24.
Each area is required to have a Strategic Commissioning Group to play a key part in the development of the plan.
Claire Brown, (pictured) Operations Manager at Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway, has been appointed as the Chair of the region’s group, while Sharon Douglas, Area Manager for the Richmond Fellowship, is the Vice Chair.
The appointments strengthen the role the third sector will have in the development of the plan, which will shape health and social care in Dumfries and Galloway for the next three years.
The plan will affect everyone who accesses, may need to access, or provides health and social care and support in Dumfries and Galloway. It impacts and involves third, independent and statutory sector services and will include where resources are prioritised and will affect future service delivery.
