Participatory budgeting vote begins in region for £200,000 of funding

Voting in the latest round of Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Participatory Budgeting Funding has now opened.

This year, the focus is on providing funding for organisations within the region that deliver projects to increase income from employment, help to reduce the costs of living, and increase income from national and regional benefits and benefits in kind.

There are six organisations competing for votes in the Annandale and Eskdale area, 13 in Nithsdale, four within the Stewartry and six within Wigtownshire.

In total, £200,000 is available for distribution and everyone over the age of 12 can now vote on the website for their three favourite projects within the area they live:

Anyone that took part in the online voting process last year, can simply sign in again to the site. Alternatively, it only takes a few minutes to register, and you can then complete the voting process. Full details and instructions on how to do so are provided on the website.

Voting continues until 11.59pm on Friday April 30. The announcement of the successful applications will be made on Tuesday May 4.
