There are many types of services across the community like care homes, care at home and housing support services. Most roles will involve supporting adults, but you can support younger people too.
This work is about helping people to live well and achieve the things in life that really matter to them. You will go home each day knowing you made a difference.
There is a wide range of careers in social services and every one of them makes a positive difference to people’s lives, so it really is life changing work, for people using services and workers.
Prepare to Care is an employer led training package that prepares people to work in a variety of direct care settings. This 6 week training package includes: PVG Application, Roles and Responsibilities, First Aid, Health & Safety/ Risk Assessment, SPOVG, Infection control, moving and handling, working to achieve units from the SQA Certificate of Work Readiness.
The Care Training Consortium are looking for 10 keen motivated individuals who are over the age of 18 and willing to commit to an initial 6-week programme which will include training and ‘on the job’ experience
The next cohort will start 21st June 2021, you will undertake a period of training, then embark on a blended experience of placement with a care organisation (depending on current restrictions due to Covid) and our exciting new simulation and online experience.
You will be expected to keep a record of your learning which you will be able to take with you, this alongside the certificates you gain through the training we put you through will begin to create a portfolio of learning that will be transferrable should you not gain immediate employment following this programme.

Closing date for referrals is Monday May 31. Selection for the programme is by interview to show you have a real interest in the Care Sector.
