The Ernest Cook Trust is inviting registered charities, community interest groups and not-for-profit organisations to apply for environmental education projects, outdoor learning and ‘learning from the land’ through its two new funding streams:
- ECT Apprenticeships and Scholarships Grants – £500 to £10,000 per student, per year is available for work-based training programmes, placements and academic studies with an emphasis on environmental engagement.
- ECT Outdoor Learning Officer Grants – up to £15,000 per year for up to three years is available as a contribution towards the salaries of learning officers/outdoor educators who can engage people with environmental matters.
The Trust is interested in applications that address key global concerns through focusing on issues such as:
- Connecting with nature.
- Climate change.
- Environmental pollution.
- Loss of biodiversity.
- Farming and food production.
- Renewable energy.
- Mental and physical wellbeing.
- Social justice.
Priority will be given to organisations working within areas of urban and rural deprivation and applications that include disadvantaged members of society.
Deadline for both grants is Friday September 27.
