The shortlisted nominees will be chosen next week for this year’s Dumfries and Galloway VOscars.
A large number of entries came in across eight categories from the full spread of the region before the deadline on Sunday.
Next week, independent panels will be looking over all the nominations before the hard task of selecting a final three to go forward to the awards evening on Thursday June 6 in Castle Douglas.
The eight categories are: Young Volunteer (sponsored by The Holywood Trust); Adult Volunteer (sponsored by Burns Developments Ltd); Board Member (sponsored by Dumfries and Galloway Chamber of Commerce); Outstanding Contribution to Volunteering (sponsored by Andersons); Children and Young People organisation (sponsored by Theatre Royal); Social Enterprise (sponsored by Loreburn Housing); Community Group (sponsored by Dumfries and Galloway Council); and the Inclusion Award (sponsored by the Equalities Partnership).
This year’s VOscars is also kindly supported by Solway Print, Dumfries and Galloway Life magazine and The People’s Project.
The winners of each category will be announced at Castle Douglas Town Hall on June 6.
