Youth Beatz on Saturday and Sunday June 22-23 in Dumfries is looking for volunteers.
It is Scotland’s largest free music festival and about 40,000 young people will attend.
The two-day festival is the culmination of a programme of events, including the seven-day regional Fringe Festival and the hard-hitting immersive youth drama, The Toon.
This is the 11th Youth Beatz, delivered by Dumfries and Galloway Council, to provide young people with fantastic opportunities to access a wide range of activities. But, they need help to make it happen.
A wide range of volunteers will be needed to ensure the smooth running of Youth Beatz. There are lots of opportunities to use skills and experience: performance, production, design, photography, promotion, media, infrastructure, community engagement…
There are lots of exciting volunteering opportunities to suit everyone that can be tailored to fit skills, talents and interests,
Event Volunteers have always been an important part of making Youth Beatz a reality, with 180 people volunteering a total of 9900 hours at last year’s events, and the council is fully committed to working with and supporting volunteers now, and in future years.
Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Young People’s Champion, Councillor Adam Wilson said: “The continued success of Youth Beatz, Youth Beatz Fringe and the Toon is largely due to the ongoing support and dedication of hard working volunteers and without their time and expertise we couldn’t deliver an event of this scale. I would encourage any adult or young person interested in volunteering to take up the opportunity.”
