The Scottish Government is currently preparing national guidance for significant case reviews for adults that will bring adults into line with children, where there has been guidance in place since 2015.
In England, The Care Act 2014 established Safeguarding Adult Boards (SABs) to conduct a Safeguarding Adult Review (SAR) when an adult in its area has died as a result of abuse or neglect, whether known or suspected, and there is concern that partner agencies could have worked together more effectively to protect the adult.
Featuring a keynote session led by Professor Michael Preston-Shoot, Independent Chair of two Safeguarding Adult Boards and regular presenter on SARs in England, this half-day conference will focus on the experiences of Safeguarding Adult Reviews in England – the recurring themes that have emerged and the lessons that can be learned so far.
It takes place on Wednesday December 4 at 110 Queen Street, Central Glasgow from 9.15am to 1pm.
