An opportunity to attend safeTalk training

An opportunity to attend free safeTalk training on Friday March 15 from 10am –1.30pm at Seminar Room 3, DGRI, Dumfries.

safeTALK teaches community members to recognise people with thoughts of suicide and to connect them to suicide intervention resources.

It prepares participants to activate a suicide alert by following the TALK (Tell, Ask, Listen and KeepSafe) steps.

An independent evaluation of safeTALK showed participants felt more likely to recognise the signs of someone being at risk of suicide, to approach the person, to ask them directly whether they were having thoughts of suicide and be able to connect them to help.

To date, over 3000 people have been trained in safeTALK across Scotland in a broad range of settings. safeTALK is delivered locally throughout Scotland as part of the Scottish Governments strategy.
