Lived experience network opens doors in Dumfries

A group of interested local people are looking to build a lived experience network in Dumfries for people in recovery, or, with previous experiences of drug or alcohol addiction.

The informal group will welcome everyone and is not affiliated to any other organisations.

It meets the last Monday of each month at The North West Resource Centre at 5.15pm. Anyone attending should state at the reception that they are there for The Lived Experience group and they will be shown the meeting room.

A spokesman for the group said: “We are a recently formed group of people with lived experience who want to use our experiences to help others. We are a peer support group who wish to gain new members so we can finally branch out and educate services on addiction issues and raise awareness of addiction.”

The group is also on Facebook @Lived Experience Network Dumfries.
