Access to Personal Protective Equipment for social care

Any housing support / supported housing service that is working with people with Covid 19 or with symptons of the virus can appeal to a new triage system to provide access to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The PPE Social Care Triage system went live on Friday: Email; Phone: 0300 303 3020

You will be required to:

  1. Answer a series of short screening questions.
  2. Confirm you have fully explored your business-as-usual procurement routes
  3. Confirm you have a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 and therefore have a need for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  4. Give your Care inspectorate registration number.

Organisations are expected to liaise with their Health and Social Care Partnerships about the amount of PPE required so that HSCPs can develop a picture of the overall requirements in their areas.

The triage service has, however, been set up for individual provider organisations to use rather than HSCPs making coordinated requests on their behalf.
