Paths for All – Smarter Choices, Smarter Places

Paths for All’s Smarter Choices, Smarter Places (SCSP) Open Fund aims to encourage people to change their behaviours to walk or cycle as part of their everyday short journeys. The Fund will also encourage people to use other sustainable travel choices for longer journeys. It is available to support public, third and community sector organisations that want to change people’s everyday travel behaviour and help create a happier, healthier Scotland.

This grant offers from £5000 to £10,000 with larger grants from £10,001 to £50,000 available. This funding is available for 50% of a total project cost.

Funding is available for a wide range of organisations:

  • Constituted groups, clubs or community organisations
  • Registered charity
  • Not-for-profit compant or Community Interest Company (CIC)
  • School, University, or College
  • Statutory Body (including town, parish and community council)
  • Regional Transport Partnership
  • Health and Social Care Partnership
  • Health Board
  • Business Improvement Districts
  • Local Authorities

Applicants must demonstrate how they will deliver one of the following outcomes

  • Increased walking and cycling modal share for short local journeys
  • Increase in other sustainable travel choices for longer journeys i.e. public transport and car share
  • Changes in knowledge, attitudes and beliefs towards sustainable travel choices
  • Reduced car use for short local journeys
  • Reduced driver only journeys
