A new Scottish Government advocacy service has launched to support disabled people accessing benefits delivered by Social Security Scotland.
The independent advocacy service will enable clients to have their voice heard, express their views and feel understood.
A client can request an advocate at any time – from the initial application stage to re-determination and appeal.
People can access this support by calling 0800 182 2222 and asking to be referred to the Independent Advocacy Service. Although clients who already have someone acting on their behalf won’t be eligible for the service.
