National Lottery boost for community and sports clubs

Five sports and community groups across Dumfries and Galloway are this week sharing in a National Lottery cash boost.

Cummertrees Public hall will benefit from the National Lottery Community Fund with £8620 to upgrade facilities at the Cummertrees Hall, which serves the communities of Cummertrees, Powfoot and Newbie.

Langlands School Parent Council receive £4000 to repair one of their minibuses, which is used for disabled children who attend Langlands School in Dumfries.

Raydale Community Partnership get £10,000 to create a community gym and multi-purpose space for the benefit of local people in Gretna.

Wigtown Bay Sailing Club also benefit from £3150 to run sailing, kayaking, canoeing and raft building activities for the community of Isle of Whithorn.

Finally, Lagwyne Hall Committee of Management collect £10,000 to upgrade the toilets and entrance area at their hall in Carsphairn.
