£99,000 National Lottery funding for Early Years Scotland in region

Early Years Scotland in Dumfries and Galloway has today received £99,000 of National Lottery funding.

The charity is committed to providing the very best start in life for every child in Scotland and is the leading national third sector organisation for children pre-birth to five years old.

The group will use the funding to support families, with children up to the age of five in rural and deprived communities across Annandale and Eskdale and Nithsdale.

Support will include the group’s ‘Stay, Play and Learn’ programme and baby massage sessions for groups of local families.

It is the only one from Dumfries and Galloway out of 49 projects sharing the latest round of over £5 million of National Lottery funding.

Last year The National Lottery Community Fund gave out over £36m of National Lottery funding to community projects across Scotland.

Over 1291 projects benefitted from this, enabling people and communities to bring their ideas to life.
