The online application process is now live for a programme that provides tailored, one-to-one business support and mentoring for ambitious organisations and communities to develop and deliver their social enterprise plan.
The South of Scotland Social Enterprise Support Programme will see a series of free events bringing together local and national agencies to support organisations, across the new South of Scotland Economic Partnership region, in developing enterprising activities.
Designed for individuals, staff, managers or board members of community groups, social enterprises and charities, there will be a range of events – still to be publicised – to suit organisations at different stages of their enterprise journey.
The various activities will be taking place throughout the year across Dumfries and Galloway.
In the meantime, the Ambitions Business Support programme is inviting applications from interested organisations and communities to submit an Expression of Interest form – available here: https://bit.ly/2GoFW8k
Applicants are advised to read the SoS Ambitions Programme – Expression of Interest Guidance Document before submitting an Expression of Interest, which is available here: https://bit.ly/2S2oHL6
The workshops and masterclasses lined up are:
Introduction to Enterprise Workshops
Those at the earliest stage will find the ‘Introduction to Enterprise’ workshops really useful, helping them consider how they or their group could establish enterprising activities for social benefit. Run by Scotland’s national social enterprise start-up support organisation, Firstport, the workshops are a blend of knowledge and experience and help attendees consider legal models, ideas generation, feasibility and action planning.
Understanding Social Investment
For those looking to grow their social enterprise activities, and looking to understand how social investment can help achieve this, join one of our ‘Understanding Social Investment’ workshops. These are relaxed workshops are a great way to learn about social investment. Packed full of information, case studies and inspiration, participants will leave understanding how different social investment models can help organisations fund future plans and achieve greater social impact. Experts are also on hand to answer your questions.
Sell Social Masterclasses
These workshops will take place in late 2019 and will be tailored around organisations who express an interest in learning more about selling their social products. These masterclasses will highlight and learn from already successful social brands, and introduce some practical skills around selling direct to consumers and retail stockists. Watch this space for further information.
The South of Scotland Programme is funded by the South of Scotland Economic Partnership and runs until March 2020.
