The LGBT Youth Scotland Dumfries service will be relocating to the newly re-opened DG1 Leisure Complex.
On Tuesday September 17, their team will join the Dumfries and Galloway Youth Enquiry Service and other youth work partners at the building with an official launch the following week.
The relocation provides them with new opportunities and a great new youth space, which will benefit the young people they support.
It will also allow closer working with youth workers at the Youth Enquiry Service and for them to be part of a youth work hub to help better meet the needs of young people in the area.
LGBT Youth Scotland will have its own office and youth space and the co-location will give young people access to other spaces including a modern computer suite providing opportunities to improve their digital skills, improved cooking facilities and access to the leisure facilities at DG1 – providing health and wellbeing benefits.
The centre will also provide the added benefit of dedicated one to one rooms.
The Dumfries office will be out of action during September 16-17 for the move. In terms of youth groups, these will be cancelled for the week of the 16th to give them the chance to set-up and establish the new space.
The new office address will be: LGBT Youth Scotland, Hoods Loaning, Dumfries, DG1 2HT. The phone numbers will remain the same.
