JOB Community Project Development Worker, The Hub – Friday September 25

A Community Project Development Worker is being sought for the SPRING Social Prescribing Project at The Hub in Dumfries.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £23,168.00 per year

Overview of main duties:

To develop, co-ordinate and deliver the SPRING Social Prescribing Project in Dumfries and Galloway which aims to improve the physical and emotional well being of people.

To recruit, train, support, and manage volunteers who will assist people referred to the project.

To liaise with health professionals and other agencies to make referrals to the project.

To identify and engage with community organisations that provide activities and opportunities.

To use outcome focussed monitoring and evaluation systems and produce reports.

To provide day to day supervision of a part-time SPRING assistant.

Person Specification:

A minimum of 2 years of developing and delivering successful community projects.

Experience of recruiting, training, supporting and managing volunteers.

Experience of working with people in need of support to achieve personal outcomes around physical and emotional well being.

A high level of numeracy and literacy skills, with an ability to capture and collate statistical information for analysis using outcome focussed monitoring and evaluation systems.

An understanding and knowledge of long term health conditions and healthy lifestyle practices.

To have daily access to, and use of a car, to work across the Dumfries and Galloway region.

The post holder will work 3 set days per week at The Hub base in Dumfries and 2 days per week from home. It is intended that the post holder will resume working 5 days per week at The Hub base in Dumfries at some point in the future.
