JOB: Independent Advocate – Dumfries and Galloway Advocacy Service – November 15

Independent Advocate (West of the Region) – 21 Hours per week over 3 days

Dumfries and Galloway Advocacy Service are looking to recruit someone with experience of and/or understanding of the role of the independent advocate. Ideally, you will have experience of working with adults at risk of harm or exploitation.

You must be a good communicator and have excellent listening skills as these are key to the role of an Independent Advocate.  You must be computer literate and able to work on one’s own initiative and also have the capacity to work as part of a team. It is essential you have a full driving licence and access to independent transport.

Salary: (£17,210 pro rata) £9,768

Duration of Post: One Year – It is hoped the post will continue after this time but is dependent on funding.

Base:  This role may be either office based in Stranraer or home-based, depending on applicant location and experience.

Hours: Job Ref IA01 – 21 hours per week (over 3 days to be agreed at interview)
