Inclusive play park secures £10,000

Over £25,000 has been given to organisations in Dumfries and Galloway this week from The Big Lottery Fund.

Include Us secured £10,000 towards installing a wheelchair friendly trampoline in the Catherine Street inclusive play park in Dumfries.

The group has secured other funding to improve access into the park, create safe pathways through the trees, have sociable seating and install inclusive play equipment.

The improvements will be completed sometime between spring and summer.

Kirkconnel Miners Memorial Centre Management Committee will receive £7970 to upgrade their toilet facilities to encourage more local groups to use the centre for their events.

Finally Support in Mind Scotland is to get £7360 to inform their application to NHS Dumfries and Galloway for a Community Asset Transfer. They will conduct a feasibility study to survey the building for maintenance costs, and consult with the community about their needs and aspirations for the building.
