As a result of Covid-19, the British Heart Foundation furniture store in Dumfries is looking to recruit new volunteers in different roles including:
Cash Desk Volunteer
Dealing with customers at the cash desk. Using electronic till and bank card machines. Providing excellent customer service.
Skills: good communicator; attention to detail; friendly manner
When: Saturday and Sunday AM and PM; Monday and Friday PM
Sales Floor Volunteer
Assisting customers with enquiries on the sales floor. Helping display articles and keeping the sales floor tidy and inviting to customers.
Skills: good communicator; friendly manner
When: Monday – Saturday AM and PM; Sunday
Assisting with the organisation of the warehouse including receiving goods and placing goods within the store. Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy and safe
Skills: ability to move and handle goods; good organiser
When: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Telephone and Administration Volunteer
Answering the telephone and undertaking basic administrative duties in the back office of the store.
Skills: good telephone manner; attention to detail; ability to follow procedures.
Online Listing Volunteer
Researching, photographing and listing articles for sale on Gumtree and Ebay. Packing up goods for sending to online HQ.
Skills: experience of listing items using online platforms; attention to detail.
When: Monday, Tuesday
All British Heart Foundation volunteers will receive appropriate training for their role. Travelling expenses can be reimbursed and tea and coffee will be provided.
