A project to increase arts provision for young people and to improve health and well-being has been given a £7500 grant.
The money from The Robertson Trust will support Langholm-based contemporary rural arts organisation OutPost Arts with the project A Creative Place.
This aims to widen existing creative opportunities for the community via projects that deliver on those two main aims.
OutPost Arts will use the grant to facilitate learning opportunities, including accredited arts awards, for school pupils at primary and academy level through an after school creative programme.
A new ‘Making Space’ programme, will allow them to deliver a series of inclusive and accessible workshops for adults aimed at improving well-being through participation, skill/confidence building and creative expression.
The Making Space programme will take place at the newly opened High Street arts hub (The Look Out).
