Local groups receive funding from Robin Rigg Community Fund

RWE Robin Rigg and the Solway Firth Partnership have announced the recipients of grants for 2020 from the Robin Rigg Community Fund.

Over £120,000 has been given to 19 organisations in Cumbria and Dumfries and Galloway.

The grants support a variety of projects but one thing in common – helping the organisations to benefit their local communities along the Solway coast.

The fund was over three times oversubscribed – grant applications totalled over £420,000.

They will be issuing in late summer some updated guidance notes for the next round of applications for grants in 2021, along with announcements of application dates and deadlines.

Recipient Organisations and Projects were:

Colvend Public Hall Committee – Hall Floor Renovation

Colvend & Southwick Community Council – Defibrillator Replacement

White Loch Lane Association – Improvements to Core Path 20

Nith Inshore Rescue – Nith Inshore Rescue Capital Equipment Relacement Support

Auchencairn Community Council – Green Infrastructure in Auchencairn

Kirkbean Village Hall Committee – Replacement of Heater

South West Community Woods Trust – Taliesin Biodiversity Project

Kippford Association – Kippford Community Nature Reserve

Borgue Public Hall – Borgue Hall Playpark

Dumfries and Galloway Outdoor Access Trust – Castle Haven Bay Path Upgrade
