Festival for Christmas on Sunday takes shape with The Guild (Dumfries)

The Guild (Dumfries) are putting the final touches on the plans to transform the town centre into a festive festival for all the community this Sunday.

From 12pm to 6pm, there’s festive entertainment, live music, dancing in the streets and Christmas cheer on offer throughout the day thanks to an army of volunteers.

Taking the lead in this year’s festivities and working in partnership with Dumfries and Galloway Council, The Guild Dumfries can’t wait to for the town to become a bustling market town.

There’s over 35 stalls at a curated Christmas Makers Market laden with beautiful arts and crafts and festive food and drink. It’s the perfect place to find seasonal gifts, many made and created in the region.

There is also a jam-packed programme of event, activities, workshops, live music and entertainment throughout the day. There’s also storytelling, horse and carriage rides, Santa’s grotto, reindeer, Paint The Toon with D-Lux and more! Plus the chance to win prizes in the Christmas Treasure Trail.

Can you lend a helping hand?

It’s going to be a lot of work in just a short space of time. Can you lend a hand and volunteer at the Christmas Festival. They need people from 8am to help construct 35 market stalls and gazebos, build Santa’s grotto, construct the reindeer pen, decorate the stage/Christmas trees/the high street with hundreds of fairy lights, put out signs etc…

Just a couple of hours of your time is needed to ensure the day is a success.

They also need more help taking is all apart at the end of the day too, from 6pm onwards.
