Extension given until March to allow remote meetings for SCIOs

An extension has been given to allow SCIOs to hold general or members’ meetings remotely until March 30 next year.

COVID-19 has meant that the ability to hold meetings in person is limited so alternative methods, such as video conferencing or phone calls, have been used.

The move was originally until December 30 but this is now extended for a final three months until March 30.

SCIOs are being encouraged to use this time as an opportunity to amend their constitutions to ‘future proof’ them by allowing for the use of virtual meetings once this latest period ends.
