The Enabling State

Financial, demographic and social pressures means that when it comes to public services more of the same will not be enough. So how can we do things differently and in a way that also addresses the limitations of the traditional welfare state? ‘The Enabling State’ is a paradigm shift in public policy that give citizens and communities more control over their wellbeing.

Hosted by the Carnegie UK Trust this informal workshop will explore what an Enabling State looks like and identify practical opportunities for the community and voluntary sector to give citizens and communities more control and lead the way to a more Enabling State.
