Award-winning employability programme needs Social Care services

Scottish Drugs Forum’s award-winning Addiction Worker Training Project (AWTP) is a unique initiative which supports, trains, and prepares individuals with a history of problematic drug and alcohol use to work in Social Care.

The project is being piloted in Dumfries and Galloway for the first time, after running successfully in other parts of Scotland since 2004.

Trainees will receive:

• two placements, both lasting four and a half months, with an induction and training

• support from a dedicated mentor

• help to achieve a Scottish Vocational Qualification in Health and Social Care

• a salary, annual leave, public holidays and sick pay

If you are interested in becoming a trainee or are an organisation who would like to support trainees, please get in touch with Lewis Boddy at or 07790 043 717.
