Dumfriesshire Foodbank puts call out for volunteers

Dumfriesshire Foodbank is looking for volunteers to help.

Committed individuals are sought to offer their time – little or a lot – and make a difference in their local community.

From sorting and weighing stock to making up food parcels, the warehouse offers a wide range of hands-on roles for volunteers.  At times, heavy lifting may be involved.

The opportunity offers the chance to learn new skills, gain experience and meet new people.

The Foodbank is based within Apex Scotland, at 77-79 Friars Vennel in Dumfries.

For over 18s, the position requires no skills or experience, as training will be given, and opportunities are available from Monday to Friday between 10am-12 and 1pm-4pm.

Most of all, volunteers need to be committed and reliable as the Foodbank runs a very demanding service, where co-ordination of our volunteers is key.

If interested in the opportunity, email volunteering@thirdsectordumgal.org.uk or call 0300 303 8558 for more.
