Dalbeattie Men’s Shed has been recognised for its outstanding work in the community and with businesses by the United Kingdom Men’s Sheds Association.
A previous winner of the coveted Shed of the Year Award, Dalbeattie once again were recognised for their part of the Shed movement.
To receive the award were Geoff Allison (secretary), Geoff Thomas (treasurer) and John Forrest (vice chair) who had travelled to Worcester to be part of the National Shed Fest and to celebrate Men’s Sheds.
Dalbeattie Men’s Shed are based in premises owned by KCB Investments and their relationship goes much further than Landlord and Tennant. Working together they have supported the community and developed many more positive relationships in the community.
As part of the celebrations, Chris Fisher RPT, The Blind WoodTurner delivered an inspirational Keynote speech. He talked about the power of the Sheds to inspire, to create resilience and to change people’s lives.
Chief Officer Charlie Bethel said: “Dalbeattie Men’s Shed have an incredible relationship with KCB investments, and their Director Alan Mazza should also be recognised for his tremendous support of the Shed and their activity in the community.
“Sheds are amazing environments where men come together and support each other. People make new friendships and new communities are formed. This can only be achieved and be
sustainable where real partnerships are formed and developed. Dalbeattie Men’s Shed and KCB Investments are an inspiration to us all and demonstrate what can be done when business and Sheds come together.”
