Community garden extends invitation to visit next month

An invitation to visit Sandside Community Garden has been made for Saturday October 12.

The community project is transforming a troubled site into a flourishing, welcoming greenspace.

The site will soon contain: an outdoor cooking and eating area; raised vegetable beds; a forest garden; community arts and conservation workshops; children’s woodland play area and a teenagers’ tree top hangout – among many other things suggested through local consultations.

The event is a chance, not only to hear more about the garden, but also to have space and opportunity to get together with other community minded folk.

From walled gardens to allotments, guerrilla gardening to pocket orchards, community fridges to cooking lessons – go along to share experiences of community gardens and growing projects, or just find out more about what is going on in other places.
