The Climate Action Fund supports communities across the UK take action on climate change by reducing their carbon footprint.
A broader movement of change will enable communities to do this within and beyond the communities we fund. In this initial round, there will support for up to 15 place-based community-led partnerships to make the changes in their community they believe will have the biggest impact on climate change.
The fund is looking for applications from a place-based community-led partnership that brings together a wide range of people and organisations and is driven bt local groups with a deep understanding of local needs. Projects must have the potential to make high, long lasting impact on the carbon footprint of commnunities.
The main areas of interest for the fund are sustainable energy, sustainable transport, consumption (food and waste) and the natural environment. Projects may need to have an impact on more than one of these areas to create a real difference.
Initial ideas must be submitted by Wednesday December 18, with full proposals being submitted by Friday March 27.
