Inclusive Play – enabling all ability access to play areas

Dumfries and Galloway Council is investing £500,000 to make Parks in Annan, Dumfries and Stranraer more accessible to all members of our community, specifically for children and young people with a disability. They want to know which Parks in Annan, Dumfries and Stranraer you think this money should be spent on and to provide clarity to the consultation process we are hosting focus groups in each of the identified areas. To this end, I would like to invite you or a representative from your group to share your experience, knowledge and understanding and above all, to provide a voice to the engagement. Supporting the consultation process are online and hard copy surveys and these will be circulated widely.

Our Council want to hear the views of children, young people, parents and carers. They are keen to work in partnership with organisations that represent children, young people, parents and carers who have a disability, or community groups who are already working to improve parks in these areas. The feedback from this consultation will influence where and how the £500,000 is spent. All feedback from the consultation will be available on the Councils website later this year.
