The first meeting of a new free Dumfries Bipolar Group will be held on Thursday June 20.
The group is for people who live with Bipolar Disorder and would like to share information, advice and experiences with other people in a similar situation.
It will meet on the third Thursday of every month from 7-9pm at Soul Soup, 109 Irish St, Dumfries DG1 2NP – no referral is required to join.
The friendly gathering is also open to friends, family, carers and partners of people with a bipolar diagnosis – anyone whose life has been affected by the condition.
It is a chance to share advice and insights in a friendly non-clinical setting and meet new people.
The group will also have occasional guest speakers to talk about the disorder from a range of angles, such as psychiatrists, pharmacists, mindfulness, returning to work and staying fit.
The Dumfries group is affiliated to Bipolar Scotland and you can learn more about the national organisation at www.bipolarscotland.org.uk.
